Brother, can you spare a mustache? It’s for the Kids

Reminder for DC folks — Mustaches for Kids DC kicks off our 2010 effort tomorrow, and we’re still looking for a few good men willing to grow a ‘stache for the cause. Here’s the deal:
- You grow a mustache (from scratch) for four weeks, starting with “Shaving Day” festivities tomorrow night at RFD-Chinatown, at 6:30 p.m. (Or you can shave in the privacy of your home).
- You set up a fundraising page to raise money for the Kids Care Fund atChildren’s National Medical Center, supporting care, programming and resources for the children and their families whose lives are upended at holiday times and throughout the year.
- At the end of the four weeks, we culminate with a “Stache Bash” at RFD, on Thursday, December 9. It’s like a cross between a beauty pageant and a police lineup. In other words, you have to see it to believe it.
Last year, we raised over $40,000 for the Kids Care fund, and this year we’re hoping to top $55,555, in honor of the fifth anniversary of our DC efforts.
I hope you can join us, or at least spread the word, reblog, and pass on to potential growers.
If you’re not up for growing but want to help, your donations to the cause are also appreciated, by clicking here.
