Virgin Galactic’s newest ship, VSS Enterprise, took flight for the first time yesterday,
Given Mr. Branson and Co.’s pace of progress, and the continued problems with manned moon/Mars travel from a government perspective. I wouldn’t be too surprised seeing the next moon mission coming out of the private sector in 10 or so years.
I will be fascinated, in the meantime, to see whether “space tourism” continues to have legs, among that small section of the uber-rich who have the power and the $$ to make it happen. Something tells me that as long as some people have ridiculous amounts of money to spare, this is exactly the type of “fun investment” they’ll be willing to spend it on.
