One advantage of this baby taking its sweet time to arrive is that Liz’s baking tempo has increased.
She made her not-yet-trademarked Liz’s Kickass Chocolate Chip Cookies last night or dessert, and I am also enjoying them as a swoon-worthy mid morning snack!
I was well into my twenties before I understood the difference. Speaking of which, Macaron Bee looks close to opening (or might already be open) on Wisconsin Ave in upper Georgetown—Book Hill, to be precise.

Frontier Airlines says goodbye to the cookie - JSOnline
The cookie has crumbled. That warm chocolate chip cookie that airline passengers relished - and that helped Milwaukee’s Midwest Airlines claim “the best care in the air” - will fade into history at the end of the month, like the airline itself that’s been swallowed up by competitors.
In a memo to company employees, Frontier Airlines officials announced Friday that they’re removing the complimentary warm cookies from in-flight service. In their place, bags of Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Crackers or Barnum’s Animal Crackers will be offered, the company said. The snacks will be complimentary, however, only for the carrier’s Ascent, Summit, Classic and Classic Plus customers, and unaccompanied minors. Those flying economy will have to pay $1 for the crackers, the statement said.
I assume that this is a real story, but the fact that it was published on April Fool’s Day gives me hope that it’s not. Anybody know?

EXCLUSIVE Update of the Day: Tipster Autumn, who has a cousin in high places, sent in this sneak peek of a couple other flavors in the Nestle Crunch Girl Scout candy bar line that is expected to be unveiled this June.
As you can see, prayers have been answered: Samoa- and Tagalong-flavored Crunch bars are indeed in production.
Autumn writes: “I can say that they were as delicious as they look, but the Thin Mints flavor tasted most like the actual Girl Scout cookie. U jelly?”

Some mornings, Liz can unintentionally make me feel like a bit of a slacker.
Like when she bakes two batches of cookies, starts two loads of laundry, puts on a pot of coffee and grades a couple of final exams, all before I’m out of bed.
Rice cakes disguised as cookies? Is there no truth in the world!
I am utterly disappointed…
