Even zookeepers want in on the Royal Wedding-mania
‘William’ and ‘Kate’ to marry on royal wedding day
Cape Town – Kate and William, penguins at the National Aquarium, are engaged to be married on 29 April, the same day as the royal wedding. “They love each other very deeply,” said aquarium communications director Gareth West. “Given their names, what could be more appropriate than a royal marriage?”
West insisted the marriage was not a publicity stunt, claiming the pair were actual mates, but refused to be drawn on whether other penguin weddings had been held at the aquarium. One keeper alleged the penguins were both male and were called George and Terence until late last week.
Not the royal wedding: reactions from around the world. Unreliable reports of the global celebrations

After fasting for up to 42 days these Macaroni penguins are taking a run down to the ocean in order to fatten up once again. Macaroni Penguins spend the vast majority of the year at sea, only coming ashore in order moult or mate.

So I posted one of these yesterday, but they’re too good not to keep sharing.
Even if I’m generally against Christmas marketing before Thanksgiving.

Nothing like a group of baby penguins to put a smile on your face. The little one appears to be silently judging his sibling.
