Wizards’ New Uniforms Perfect Except For The Word “Wizards” On the Front. (the20washington)

Rumors have been flying for a while now that the Washington Wizards were going to go back to their old color scheme, from when they were the Bullets. And today, they confirmed those rumors with these new and most excellent uniforms. But man oh man, that team nickname looks more pointless and out of place than ever. DITCH IT, TEDDY. -DM [DC Sports Bog]

Maybe I’m too much of a fan of “Uncle Ted” Leonsis, but I strongly approve of the new look for the Wizards, much like the move that the Caps made a few years back.
It’s not a “trendy” color scheme, but it works for DC, and it makes for more consistency between local teams (minus the Redskins), allowing fans of DC’s NHL, MLB, or NBA teams to wear fan colors interchangeably.  That kind of cross-sport synergy works really well in Pittsburgh, and there’s no reason it couldn’t begin to build the brands of all DC’s non-Snyder-affiliated teams.
